Papers, 1927-1973.

Correspondence, typescripts, drafts of poetry, idea files, family genealogical information, photographs and books of published works. As a working writer, Florence Milner often edited her work. Many of the typescript poems carry several dates. These are often written when re-edited or when submitted to a magazine or book. There are often multiple copies of poems, with some variations in them, either through typewriting or manuscript corrections.

Wightman Fletcher Melton (September 26, 1867-November 10, 1944) was the son of Rev. Isaac Quimby and Fanny Louise (Ellis) Melton. He was born at Ripley, Tennessee, graduated from Peabody College, Nashville in 1889; A.B., Blount College, Blountsville, Alabama, 1890; Ph. D., Johns Hopkins, 1906.
